根据智库机构菲沙研究所(Fraser Institute)周三发表的一份研究报告指出，新民主党上台后推出多项加税措施，卑诗省家庭因此而平均每年多缴差不多1,000元税款。

上述报告显示，当省政府调高碳税及全面实施雇主医疗税（employer health tax，简称EHT）后，将会令到省民增加达19亿元的税务负担。以2018年收入约11.4万元的家庭计算，全年须要缴付多929元。
